Have 2 sets, used both in my competition builds and they run flawlessly. The scs buffer really dampens the recoil. Buffer is tunable to adjust stroke, but i was able to run both builds 'as is' with both factory and reloaded ammo. Definetly would recomend this set up for those interested in a reliable ar9/pcc build.

JP SCS and bolt combo worked like a charm straight out the box! Very happy that I chose these for my Aero EPC build. Function perfectly! Really happy I went with the short stroke model. Zero FTF and zero FTE !

So let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Your LRBHO only works on certain uppers with this bolt. On my set up it doesn’t. Rather frustrating since that’s why I spent more money on the “enhanced bolt”. This set up does run smooth. You can definitely tell the difference with this setup. Recoil is definitely dampened down. I’m mildly disappointed with the bolt and the fact that the LTBHO doesn’t catch. Maybe I should try some hotter loads in it but with standard Remington 9mm ranger ammo and Glock mags there’s no way it will hold open

If you can afford it, I would highly recommend this captured buffer spring kit. The Bcg is super easy to clean the spring operated flawlessly, it’s super quiet and smooth. This would be the 3rd one I purchased and runs even better on a ar15.

Anyone who has ever built an AR-9 knows that getting it to run is challenging. I did a ton of research before building my AR-9, and I did not see this bolt combo being promoted very much, but I also didn't see any negative reviews. I took a chance on it, and I am happy with my purchase. Some things to note: When you are building an AR-9, you want the combined weight of your bolt and buffer to be 24-26 oz. This way, the weapon will function comfortable with most ammo, both suppressed and unsuppressed. The way you get to that sweet spot with this buffer is 2 tungsten weights, 3 steel weights. You can also go for 3 Tungsten weights and 2 steel weights, and you should still be safe. This bolt is compatible with LRBHO. I am using it in combination with the stern defense magwell adapter so that I can use m9 Baretta magazines, and I have had 0 malfunctions in the first 500 rounds. I am using a ballistic advantage 16" 9mm barrel. I have shot it fast, gotten it hot, used the cheapest crappiest ammo I can get my hands on, and this bolt chews through everything.the recoil on this bolt feels very good for an m9. The spring is silent in the buffer tube, which greatly helps the feel of the rifle. It does have a bit of recoil, but the impulse is consistent, so you can run it fast with training. I use a Geissele 2 stage trigger, and have had no issues with light primer strikes.

Flawless!I built an Aero EPC 9 ( 8.3in)with jp bolt and Scs( 2 steel + 3 tungsten). The only other non aero parts I used was a rise armament 9mm fcg, radiant raptor charging handle, and radian ambi 45 degree safety selector. This set up ran like a champ, no issues at all. Assembly was a breeze, other than one small issue. Aero epc lower uses set screws ( not pins) to hold down action lever and rear take down dent+ spring. Clever design, no springs flying out when you take the end plate off. There was a set screw for the bolt action lever but the one for the rear dent was missing, I just ordered off of Amazon, it's a 4-40 x 1/8th set screw. The jp bolt + scs work very well for this set up with over 1k rounds fmj , hollows, different grains … no problem. The lrbo works too.
