I purchased a Foxtrot Mike bolt carrier assembly for an AR-9 build that was mostly assembled with Foxtrot Mike parts. One exception was the stripped upper that was from another manufacturer(AR-15 Tiger Rock stripped billet upper that also came from Optics Planet). I chose that stripped upper because I wanted a dust cover instead of an open ejection port on my pistol. I have not had any issues with the carrier assembly operating properly with the full length dust cover. I have shot approximately 300 FMJ rounds through it that were Federal and Winchester rounds. No feeding or jamming issues regardless of the upper coming from a different manufacture. The carrier assembly runs very smooth. I am fairly pleased with the performance of the carrier assembly. The only negative was when I received the bolt carrier assembly, the roll pin on the underneath side of the carrier assembly that retains the extractor had backed out of the carrier assembly. Not completely, but noticeable. I emailed and sent a picture to Foxtrot Mike for tech support. They advised that the roll pin looked normal after reviewing my email and picture. Still appearing not to be right, I punched the roll pin which had backed out about 1/16 of an inch. Also, the roll pin will not fit flush with the bottom of a 9mm Foxtrot Mike bolt carrier assembly. SO PLEASE BE WARNED!!!! CONTACT FOXTROT MIKE TECH SUPPORT IF THERE APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM!!!! I took it upon myself to check the roll pin because I believe it was not right. I will assume in my case that the roll pin backed out during shipment. The roll pin is still in place and not backed out again after checking at 150 and 300 rounds through my pistol. Inspecting all parts before final assembly on any build. I would recommend this assembly even with the small roll pin issue. In fact, I would recommend any AR-9 parts from Foxtrot Mike. The fit and finish on their parts is very good. Foxtrot Mike tech support was good. They got back to me quickly with a response. Hope this helps!
